For females, a monthly menstrual cycle is a sign that the body, uterus, and ovaries are all healthy. However, most women do not realize that regular menstruation is usually quite common and are dark red in color, and if you have some abnormal symptoms when menstruation comes, especially the following, you should be vigilant; maybe the body is asking for your help.

What are some conditions during menstruation that may be causing problems?

I. Color abnormalities

The color of the normal menstrual cycle of a woman is usually dull red, particularly at the end of menstruation, when it gets thicker. And “If you see that your menstrual blood is bright red, it indicates that your menstrual flow is abnormal. If the color is lighter, or even black, it could be that the blood that comes with menstruation is sticking to the vaginal area for a long time. You shouldn’t be overly anxious about these cases”. Nonetheless, if the color is abnormal and blood clot is also there, it means that there is some problem with menstruation because the ones that occur normally don’t clot. But if there is a persistent blood clot, you should be careful and it is possible that the endometrium is the problem.

II. the taste has changed

Some women may get to know that the menstrual blood has a vague smell during the menstruation period. That is basically a bloody smell. Yet, if this smell suddenly changed and became deeper, you should be on your guard. It is due to the fact that the vaginal flora has been affected.

III. the menstrual flow has changed

The normal amount of menstrual flow is typically between 20 and 60 ml. If it goes over 80 ml, it is considered as heavy menstrual flow. On the contrary, if it is less than 20 ml, it is considered as a very light menstrual flow. Both too much and too little menstrual flow are abnormal. Too heavy menstrual bleeding may be caused by too much endometrial hyperplasia or endometrial polyps, and if there is too little menstrual bleeding, it can be a sign of uterine cavity problems. It is possible that intrauterine adhesions cause poor drainage of menstrual blood.

IV. Length of Menstruation

The normal menstrual period is usually about 2 to 8 days. But if your menstrual days are generally normal and you suddenly become longer or shorter, be alert. In addition to the mentioned cervical diseases, there is also a possibility of hormone changes due to some other reasons.

V. Early menstruation

Environmental changes, moods, hormones, etc are the major causes of early onset of menstruation. Yet, apart from a few physiological reasons, the first period will also be advanced due to ovarian function decline and ovaries disorder.

Doctor reminder: Women are required to pay special attention to their menstruation. The time when they should especially watch out is when a normal menstruation suddenly turns abnormal. They should visit the doctor in time for the cause to be identified and treatment to be taken. Never think that menstruation is normal and if you don’t pay attention, sometimes these symptoms may be asking you for help. Only if you are attentive and you take your actions on time, you can acknowledge them to be the cause of your period change and to be able to normalize your period.
