Prostate is an important organ in men’s bodies; poor care, for instance, can easily result in diseases. Most men do not pay attention to it in their daily lives, which may lead to frequent prostate hyperplasia and prostatitis. But unfortunately, the unhealthy lifestyles of men and the appearance of prostate diseases are very closely related.

What behaviors in life can harm the prostate?

1. Smoking excessively

Most men probably know that smoking is bad for health, yet they do it. In addition to damaging the lungs, smoking has to do harm to the prostate as well—that is the more you smoke, the more your prostate will be harmed.

2. Like to eat spicy food

SPICY food is loved by many, and men are no exception—they can’t live without spicy food. Men have a habit of eating spicy food on a daily basis. And these bad eating habits will irritate the prostate and cause the man to have discomfort around his perineum if they have been drinking and eating like this for a long time. It also causes blood vessels to dilate, thus the prostate and bladder are in a state of congestion and edema for a long time It will lead to a decrease in the resistance of the prostate which in turn will lead to the development of prostate disease.

3. Sit for a long time

The prolonged sitting of men is the main cause of prostate diseases as it makes the prostate extremely susceptible to diseases. The main reason for this is that sitting for a long time will compress the prostate and increase the burden on the prostate, which will cause the blood circulation in the lower body to slow down. Thus the prostate will enter the phase of congestion and congestion. The accumulation of the metabolites of the prostate can cause blockage of the prostatic ducts which in turn can induce chronic prostate disease.

4. The body catches cold

Everybody agrees that women should not catch a cold, right? The point is men cannot catch cold too. After catching a cold, it can easily lead to prostate disease. The adrenal receptors catching cold will result in the excitement of the sympathetic nerve. At this time, the adrenal glands contract violently, and the pressure in the urethra becomes larger, which further affects urination and makes it difficult to urinate, thereby inducing prostate disease.

5. Long-term constipation

Chronic constipation is detrimental to the overall well-being of the human body. If a man is constipated for a long time, it will lead to the increased compression of the prostate. When he is defecating hard, it puts pressure on the prostate. It causes the urethra to thin and hinders urination. Hence, it is also not good for the health of the prostate.

6. Hold back urine

Many men urinate infrequently and have the habit of holding on to their urine. The act of holding back urine will cause severe damage to the body, especially to the prostate of the man. Retention of urine will result in a swollen bladder since it is filled and hence, voiding of urine will be weak, in addition to causing poor blood circulation in the bladder and prostate, which further triggers symptoms of prostatic hypertrophy. The prolonged holding of urine will also cause the prostate to be compressed and is still heat harmful to prostate health.

Hospital Warm reminder: Prostate health in people determines the quality of life, so individuals should live a good life with good living habits to be healthy.
